The Skate Sanctuary

Story

The Skate Sanctuary already had a fantastic suite of logos, an awesome hand-illustrated disco-ball mascot and a rough colour palette, but they were lacking the design knowledge and direction to implement the assets effectively across their website, wider marketing and merchandise.

Result

I pulled together the existing assets, and worked to develop the brand into a logical toolkit, ready for use via a set of clear brand guidelines.

I then moved onto redesign their existing Wix website. We stuck with the Wix platform because the back end systems are all running well on Wix (e-commerce shop and event bookings) — it was the front end design and site structure that needed work.

Although the written content and photography used was good, the design looked dated and the layouts chaotic. I streamlined the user experience through restructuring the menu and pages, giving the text a proper hierarchy, applying the colours properly to ensure contrast standards were met, and developed the assets into a visual system that feels right and sets the correct tone.

We’ve also worked on t-shirt and sticker designs, as well as banner and exhibition graphics for events… roll on skaters! 🛼💖
