Story

Sica is an abstract, expressionist artist, based in Metro Detroit. Her purpose is to create original art that provokes thought and evokes feelings in the viewer. She provides a sense of calm and serenity through her work, encouraging wonder, self-reflection, contemplation and awareness in her customers.

She explores themes of identity, memory, human experience and fleeting moments. Her work is unique and of high quality, but is affordable and accessible to individuals who share her reflective, passionate and creative outlook on life.

Result

When I met Sica I could tell she had big ambitions and was craving to move her business up a notch. She didn’t really consider her work as an artist a ‘real business’, let alone a brand.

By working through lots of brand strategy, her new identity has emerged. Unlike many artists who favour a totally blank ‘canvas’ (excuse the pun), Sica wanted an identity that really stood out and represented her as a person as well as an artist.

I chose a beautiful, versatile colour palette that is similar to some of Sica’s favourite paint pigments and paired it with an elegant sans-serifed font. I’ve given Sica a suite of logos that offer something for every application—from a bold statement over an image to a subtle stamp.

We’ve just completed Sica’s new website—which, later on in the year will become an e-commerce site enabling her to sell her pieces online. Sica now feels a new confidence to go ahead and shout about her artwork via her new website and social media platforms!
